Alberto López-Rodó, partner of JAUSAS and member of the Vallès South Executive Commission from the Business Confederation PIMEC, attended the session of the Santcugatribuna Forum. On this particular occasion, the event took place at the Albert Hall in Brussels to present Sant Cugat del Vallès' candidacy for the seat of the EIT.

A number of important authorities from the Local, Autonomous and Central Administrations, as well as representatives from the most important companies in the Vallès Occidental and, in Sant Cugat in particular, were attending this presentation: Banc Sabadell, Boehringer Ingelheim, Esade, Hewlett Packard, Laboratorios del Dr.Esteve, Lubrizol, Palex Medical, Sharp, Roche Diagnostics, as well as from the main Catalonian Universities.

The EIT Project forecasts an investment of 2,400m Euros between 2008 and 2013 to promote a reference centre that channels the economic and industrial policies designed by the European Commission. The EIT seat Sant Cugat is opting for will also be linked to various KIC (scientific and innovation communities) localised in many of the EU countries.
