- Practice areas: Tax Law
Jordi Capelleras is a partner of the Tax Department of JAUSAS.
He received a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1985, and has taught courses in Business Taxation at the same institution for 23 years.
He began his professional career at Coopers & Lybrand, later going on to Cuatrecasas, and Pedro Brosa y Asociados (Pedro Brosa and Associates), until 2003, when he founded Miliners Abogados y Asesores Tributarios (Miliners Attorneys and Tax Advisors). In 2017, he merged his team with JAUSAS.
In addition to managing and coordinating the Fiscal Department of JAUSAS, which includes specialists in all fields of taxation, Jordi Capelleras is particularly recognised in the areas of Inspection and Tax Litigation, where he has achieved remarkable success in defending the interests of his clients. He has extensive experience in business consulting, as well as in the taxation of family groups and business succession, and is one of the few professionals to have expanded the taxation of tax figures, such as trusts, beyond our law. Finally, thanks to his general training and extensive experience, we highlight his ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, particularly in the criminal-tax and accounting-tax domains, as well as insolvency situations with fiscal implications.
Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity and interest to intervene in projects of legislative improvement in the field of taxation, having participated, among others, in the taxation reform of business succession and in innovative incentives. He is also the author of numerous articles, notably the work of La Reforma Fiscal 2015 (The Fiscal Reform 2015), in which he coordinated a prestigious team of professionals.
