Since 2004, Poland has been experiencing a historic period of change in its economy, due principally to its joining the European Union. As a result of this membership, it is the country that benefits most from the EU's structural funds for the period 2007-2013.
It was against this backdrop that 2008 and 2009 saw the coming into force of a new regulatory framework designed to ensure a boost to the country's public infrastructures, one of the main areas to receive these funds, for which 28,000 million euros have been earmarked via the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Plan.
The main aim of the workshop is to provide companies with an international profile with key information on future projects to be undertaken in the country and the main legal issues they need to take into account should they wish to do business there. The JAUSAS speakers will be lawyers Roger Canals and Mercedes Clavell, firm associates and members of its Administrative Law Department. From the Polish practice will be lawyer Katarzyna KuŸma, and representing the Chamber will be Marcin Grodzki, Board Vice-Chairman. The event will be inaugurated by the Consul-General of the Republic of Poland in Barcelona, Marek Pernal.
